The Material Library was established since 2016 by the XJTLU As a non-profit organization, the material library aims to offer an equal opportunity for students to research by seeing and touching the material onsite or through the database online to find the best solution and merge with the industry. Benwu Studio was commissioned to this project to design the space and a set of furniture to fill this interior architecture. The design is inspired by Jean Prouve's Cite Universitaire Monbois project. As a whole, the set of furniture is being designed to be moderate, solid and more fit to the user context of 21st century whether in the library or office scenarios.
