Benwu Studio is seeking to recruit enthusiastic Designers to join our small friendly team in Shanghai / Beijing. Predominantly our work is focused on 2 directions: Product Design and Interior Design. You will be a talented all-rounder, bursting with creative ideas. We will train you in our ways of working and will nurture your progression so that your skills and position can grow within the team. As a designer, you will be working full time on a variety range of projects. It is necessary to mention your availability of time and location ( Beijing or Shanghai ) in the letter, as well as your age, gender, nationality / citizenship and available languages in the CV. Positions
Senior Interior Designer ( Shanghai / Beijing Office )
Main Responsibilities: The role will report to the Creative Director. Prepare concept design, to pitch for projects, competitions, and potential clients.
- Leading design teams and able to manage projectdesigners and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Designing the interiors of tomorrow. Research/Realise new and innovative ideas from a global perspective. Identify opportunities across design teams and champion the ideas and influence of the creative directors. - Prepare design development presentations and documentation in response to client needs. Liaise with engineering services and specialist sub-consultants. Prepare tender documentation package including drawings, schedules, and specifications. - Prepare construction documentation package including drawings, schedules, and specifications.
- Safeguarding ideas, quality finishing and technical feasibility within the available time and budget. Checking samples and formulating clear feedback. Manage, motivate and inspire other team members. Communicating with factories or constructor in a construction site.
Main Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience working in the any phases of Interior Design field. Hold a Bachelor Degree or advanced degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
- Demonstrate soundskills in overarching concept design to design development. Substantial experience in establishing and monitoring development of interior design direction, quality control and staffing schedules for projects.
- Substantial experience directing and collaborating with Project Managers and/or Principles on interior projects throughout the design development, construction documentation and supervision phases.
- Advanced using software to design, such as SketchUp, 3D Max, Auto CAD, Rihno, Vectorwork, REVIT, Grasshopper, Adobe Series and Vray skills.
- A genuine team player. You are reliable, you’ll work a deadline.
- A proficiency in Chinese and English is required.
Mid Level Interior Designer (Shanghai / Beijing Office)
Main Responsibilities: The role will report to the Creative Director and Senior Interior Designer. Prepare concept design with Senior Designers, to pitch for projects, competitions, and potential clients.
- Prepare space planning, test fitting and schematic design schemes for commercial interior design projects.
- Prepare design development presentations and documentation.
- Liaise with engineering services and specialist sub-consultants. - Prepare tender documentation package including drawings, schedules, and specifications. - Prepare construction documentation package including drawings, schedules, and specifications.
Main Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience working in the Interior Design field.
- Hold a Bachelor Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
- Intermediate-advanced using software to design, such as SketchUp, 3D Max, Auto CAD, Rihno, Vectorwork, REVIT, Grasshopper, Adobe Series and Vray skills.
- Demonstrate sound skills in overarching concept design to design development.
- Technical knowledge and ability to develop fit-out details and take the design through to documentation.
- Ability and confidence in dealing with suppliers.
- Ability to communicate in English. Chinese is a plus.

Senior Product Designer (Shanghai / Beijing Office) We’re looking for an experienced designer to be the design partner with the product teams on our key initiatives. To be successful in this role, you should have an eye for color and shape and be able to translate requirements into practical product features. Ultimately, you will help us build products that visually appealing to our potential customers.
Main Responsibilities:
The role will report to the Creative Director. Prepare concept design, to pitch for projects, competitions, and potential clients.
- Responsible for the creation and development of inventive, cutting-edge product design solutions.
- Lead design projects across the entire product. Manage the quality of design throughout all phases of a project.
- Create intuitive and elegant product design solutions that solve complex consumer problems and drive business results. Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborating with product and engineering to facilitate design discussions, elevate ideas, and give feedback in product discussions.
Main Requirements:
As the successful candidate, you will have significant experience with a collaborative, creative and resourceful team. You have specialized experience in the design and construction of product design. You will be able to demonstrate:
- 5+ years’ experience working in the any phases of Product or Industrial Design field.
- Hold a Bachelor Degree or advanced degree in Product Design or Industrial Design.
- Ability to understand and define requirements while simultaneously designing across multiple projects with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability and confidence in dealing with suppliers.
- Advanced using of Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Rhino, SolidWorks, Keyshot, Vray, Zbrush and Microsoft office. - Able to communicate in English. Chinese is a plus. - A genuine team player. You are reliable, you’ll work a deadline.
Mid Level Product Designer (Shanghai / Beijing Office) We’re looking for an experienced designer to be the design partner with the product tames on our key initiatives. Someone who is passionate about developing strategies based off of insights of real people, has mastery of their craft to turn these insights into beautifully designed products (both interactive and visuals) and inspires the organization by showing / prototyping what is possible before it is built.
Main Responsibilities:
The role will report to the Creative Director and Senior Product Designer. Prepare concept design with Senior Designers, to pitch for projects, competitions, and potential clients.
- Helping the team understand solutions by working them through on paper or as visualizations.
- Using your knowledge and expertise of interaction design in micro interactions and also at task and flow level.
- Contribute that the work from the team is consistent with the whole customer experience and designed with the client’s high-level goals and needs.
- To support the team’s work with oversight from senior members.

- You will have the ability to communicate ideas through models/visuals/sketching. - Able to communicate in English. Chinese is a plus. - A genuine team player. You are reliable, you’ll work a deadline. Minimal Session: 3 months.
Interior Design Intern (Shanghai / Beijing Office):
