WISHBONE BENCH / 2015
This turning bench for large spaces is called WISHBONE BENCH. Because the proposition of this RED exhibition is five-axis CNC, I want to challenge free-form furniture, especially things that were generally unattainable by three-axis CNC in the past. We were inspired by a lucky bone that whales, chickens and more animals have. Because both Chinese and foreign cultures have the custom of throwing lucky bones, I wanted to make a furniture series that imitates the growth of bones. Bionic design is not only for the pursuit of functions, but also for obtaining a kind of touch and experience that is rarely seen at ordinary times, so as to create an emotional connection between people and furniture.
