Ridge Bookshelf is inspired by ancient Chinese architecture column beam structure. During the research, a traditional three-way Miter mortise and tenon joint inspired us to develop a self-assembly structure that doesn't depend on any screws or glue and still breaks through the typology made by predecessors. The tenon is cut to fit the mortise hole and wedged to lock it together. The final product can be split into pre-assembled components and the user can build the wooden structure without glue and screws.
